A wiki is not a blog
I've noticed that many people don't seem to understand the difference between a blog and a wiki.
A blog is a "thread" of postings nominally related to a common topic, where the debate is the most interesting part and it would be sort of spoiling the fun to go back and edit what you originally wrote after someone has successfully countered your arguments.
A wiki is meant to be a collaborative document in which the topic stays reasonably fixed (although it too will often evolve into something more interesting as people refine the content) and new material is added to strengthen the whole but more often the existing content will be compressed and refined as the community collaborates on the effort. In the end one ends up with an impressive document to which no individual can claim sole authorship.
