g77 doesn't accept some particularly nonportable,
silent data-type conversions such as LOGICAL
to REAL
(as in `A=.FALSE.', where `A'
is type REAL
), that other compilers might
quietly accept.
Some of these conversions are accepted by g77 when the -fugly-logint option is specified. Perhaps it should accept more or all of them.
