The temperature dependence of the magnetic susceptibility ($\chi$) was well described by the thermal excitation over an energy gap ($\chi\approx\exp(-E_{\rm g}/kT)$; $E_{\rm g}\approx17$ K). Avenel et al. [78] measured $\chi$ down to 0.3 mK and confirmed the absence of a magnetic order to the milli-Kelvin regime.
