Keith Hoyle --> here

Someone said the other day that, "When a man like Keith dies, it's like watching a library burn." I think I've heard that before somewhere, but regardless, I wish I had said it. The world is a whole lot poorer without him, but I can't help feeling that Keith had taught us much as he could and felt it was time for us to go apply his wisdom to our own lives ... or not. (He always gave us the final decision on that.)

I am riddled with regrets. I wish I had taken Keith up on his offer to show me how easy it is to play blues and jazz and everything else. I wish I had tried harder to arrange a poker game with tournament rules; I know he would have taken all our chips, but what entertainment it would have been! I wish I had shown a little more appreciation for his playing at our re-wedding. I wish I had gotten to know his music buddies outside TRIUMF. I wish I had spent more time enjoying his outlook on the world. Don't we all, eh? Too late now; but not too late to preserve a few memories before those too fade.

More later!
