PHYS 210 ASSIGNMENT 1: wiki editing

PHYS 210 WIKI --> PHYS 210 HOMEWORK --> here

  1. Register yourself (see upper right corner) using the same UserID as for the PHYS 210 Website.
  2. Log in (see upper right corner) and edit "my preferences" to provide your full name, preferred nickname and Email address. (You can also customize various things, if you like.)
  3. You might want to consult the MediaKiki's Editing Help page (or even keep it open in a separate window) if you are unfamiliar with wiki syntax. Note especially that a blank line starts a new paragraph, just like in inline image (click to see full size).
  4. Add your $0.02 worth below (click on the edit tab at the top of the page) and "sign your name" by terminating your entry with four consecutive tildes (4 of these: ~). The wiki will automatically convert the 4 tildes into your UserID as a signature. (See the manual).

What could be simpler? Now let's see you do it. (Below, please!)

This is interesting, what if we were to delete other people's entries...that would be mean :(, but it could happen. Philip Mar 20:34, 2 September 2008 (PDT)     Fortunately, it can also un-happen, thanks to the history records of MediaWiki. They need to start making learning machines that you can just plug your brain into. Could you imagine the progress we could make once we just zap everyone with what would normally take years to learn? Of course, this opens up predicaments of abuse such as mind control... Well done, folks!   I believe everyone has added their bit now, and in record time!   The class list is, however, still volatile, so I may have it wrong from just counting entries. If anyone still has to get their entry in, or if anyone wants to edit their entry, or if you just have something more to say now that you know the drill, go right ahead. This page is not "locked" yet, but it will be next week. After that you can always start a new page if you see a need, or I will if I think I see one.

This promises to be an outstanding class!     Cheers -- Jess 11:09, 5 September 2008 (PDT)
