This may not sound like much, but if you divide by the cross-sectional area of the SWNT ( $1.13 \times 10^{-18}$ m$^2$) the equivalent pressure is 0.107 Pascal [N/m$^2$]. OK, still not much. But make the SWNT 10 times shorter and you will get 1000 times more tension!
