Muon spin rotation/relaxation (SR) spectroscopy is an instrumental technique that utilizes the magnetic moment of a
muon, primarily to probe the internal magnetic field distribution of a sample. The technique is extremely sensitive to both
static and dynamic magnetism on an atomic scale. In this chapter a brief description of SR and how it can be applied to
measurements of the vortex state in a type-II superconductor is given.
